Current Churches & Ministries

BIMI missionaries have served in Ivory Coast since 1973. Our missionaries are currently serving in a variety of church planting ministries including the continued development of several local churches, the continued outreach into several villages, medical ministries, literacy ministries, building projects and national leadership training in two Baptist Bible institutes. Our missionaries are specifically challenged by the need to train nationals to do the work of the ministry, as the two Bible Institutes that exist have currently suspended their classes. However, they do not cease to marvel at the changed lives of Ivorians as the result of their acceptance of Christ as their Savior.

Unreached areas/peoples

One great need for evangelism is the followers of Islam which comprise over 1/2 of the population. Roman Catholicism comprises about 35% of the population.  Yet at least 80% of the population is involved in Animism in one form or another.  Only half of the 72 people groups have an established Christian church of any kind.
