Unreached areas/peoples
Our missionaries are specifically challenged in their ministries because of a ninety-eight percent staunch Moslem society. Dealing with a harsh desert climate is also a challenge. The Wolof people of Senegal are one of the priority unreached people groups in the 10/40 window: over four million people with fewer than 100 known Christian believers.
Special projects/opportunities
St. Louis, Senegal, where BIMI missionaries currently minister, is located on the border of Mauritania and is at the edge of the Sahara desert. There is a great need for more missionaries here – BIMI is the only Independent Baptist mission board in the country. It is our prayer that God would raise up a Medical doctor to come and work here. Medical Missions is of great benefit and would be a great help in evangelizing the people here.
There is a great need for hard workers who can learn languages and adapt to other people groups and world views. The greatest need is for God called Christian leaders to come and do evangelism here. Dakar, Senegal the capital does not even have one independent Baptist Church.
